As a professional speaker, chances are you have been invited to join a speaker mastermind group at some point in your career. When you have worked in the industry for a long time, you maybe have also witnessed or experienced firsthand how often these groups inevitably fail. Here are my personal experiences:

• If you do not have an experienced facilitator to keep the discussion on track, a topic or a participant will likely take over. The rest of the group will have to be involved in a discussion that might not even be relevant to them. Alternatively, it can quickly devolve into complaining sessions or self-promotion.
• Because members’ personalities, goals, and expertise were not well-matched, the constellations of the groups were not right. Thus, the group dynamic is often tense and unproductive. 
• It is natural for speakers to suffer from a “giver syndrome.” How often have you left a group feeling you gave more than you received? 

Speaker Masterminds can, however, be highly beneficial if done correctly. If you are reading this, I invite you to a different mastermind experience: facilitated by me, handpicked by me, and organized by me.

Why am I doing this, you might ask? First of all, I’m not selling you anything, but I would like to continue my path of supporting NSA, a community that has given me so much. This is another way for me to give back to the community, both in terms of my time and the proceeds which will be donated. Second, I love to surround myself with people who are passionate about their craft, successful in their businesses, and eager to grow, learn, and share. Last but not least, because it’s fun.

That’s why every year, I bring together seven successful speakers for a Mastermind Retreat in sunny Florida so they can connect and brainstorm ways to move forward in their businesses in a safe environment that allows them to connect with each other on a deeper level. 

Attending this retreat will allow you to gain valuable insight into how others have handled similar situations and receive support from others to reach new levels of success. In this retreat, we will concentrate on the BUSINESS of speaking (instead of the performance side of it.)
